I've been borrowing DVD's from the library lately and I really like that it's free and you can keep them for a week. It works out well with my frugal nature.
I watched My Week With Marilyn which was really good. Michelle Williams was astounding.
I watched The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel which was average to silly. I'm not enough of a critical thinker to say why except to say the actors deserved better. I found myself wincing too often.
I watched The Savages which I loved. It features two of my favorite actors: Philip Seymour Hoffman and Laura Linney and they were great in it. I recommend it.
I'm in the midst of the Breaking Bad series - on Season Three. I love it and that really surprised me since movies and TV shows about addiction are at the absolute bottom of my watching pleasure list. This show, though, has a different twist on the theme and that makes it interesting. I recommend it.
I'm reading Escape From Camp 14. It's riveting. Well, I'm actually listening to it since the library didn't have a paper copy. This is the first audio book I've listened to and I can tell it's going to be an addicting venue. Guess I'm getting lazy. Anyway, the next time I'm feeling depressed and sorry for myself I'm going to say these four words out loud: North Korea Prison Camp.
I'm listening to WWNO quite a bit more than usual. I like their new format, half talk and half music that's not classical anymore. I don't much like classical music. I especially like Ian McNulty's show Where Y'Eat and Gwen Thompkins show Music Inside Out.
I'm not exercising but I should be. Shoulda Coulda Woulda Whatevs.
I met a friend in the FQ last week and we took some pics of homes and establishments decorated for the holidays. They're nice but I tend to like unadorned, everyday pics. Here's one.

Great list o' TV and movies, Charlotte. Reminds me that I have to see "My Week with Marilyn." As to "Breaking Bad," I have been totally hooked season after season. The best thing on TV ever! The six-part on-air mini-season just ended really fell off the mark, however. Still, it's what TV should be. When you're all done with BB, can I recommend a new fixation? A British TV series called "The Last Detective." The Jeff Parish library has DVDs. Enjoy! Arthur
Thanks for the rec, Arthur. One of my all-time favorite TV shows was BBC's Prime Suspect with Helen Mirren so I will def check out The Last Detective.
Best Exotic didn't do much for me, either. The all star cast couldn't save the fairly predictable story.
I know, Rob, I was so disappointed with this movie. I was hoping it would be more like A Month By the Lake, which I thought was light-hearted & cute. (But maybe too much of a chick flick for you.)
